Talent density at Clara

We are about 400 people building one AI-powered platform for corporate cards, bill payments, cross-border transfers and spend visibility, for companies in Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. We describe ourselves as a high talent-density team, and this page shows what we mean by that, with the evidence behind it.

What does talent density mean at Clara?

Talent density is the standard we hold ourselves to, not a ranking we claim. Every Clara job posting describes us as "a high talent-density team driven to make an impact in Latin America — low ego, high ownership." We are about 400 people, and our LATAM Product Lead postings say we build in small, autonomous squads that default to action over process.

Six values describe how we work day to day. They appear on our careers page and in every posting, so you can hold us to them:

  • Clarity: open and direct communication; we say what we mean and give context where it matters.
  • Simplicity: if it can be simpler, it should be.
  • Ownership: we own everything we do, end to end, and follow through no matter whose job it technically is.
  • Pride: we hold ourselves to a high standard, and it shows in what we deliver.
  • ABC (Always Be Changing): we adapt fast, embrace change and keep learning.
  • Inclusivity: diverse ideas, stories and perspectives build a better Clara.

What can a small team ship at Clara?

A full product: a three-person team built and shipped Clara Global in weeks, and we launched it in June 2026. The team, known internally as the Lighthouse Squad, included a security-focused engineer and used Claude Code as its primary development environment. Our engineering blog describes the result as an expense reimbursement platform covering 210+ countries and 180+ currencies, with AI generating the overwhelming majority of the code.

Juan Zuluaga, our Product Director, estimates that before AI the same team would have needed about two years. He also notes that most of those weeks went into infrastructure and security requirements. The squad documented its ways of working so other Clara teams can build at the same pace; it is one project, not a promise that every project runs on the same timeline.

How do teams at Clara use AI?

AI is part of how we work, not a side topic, and engineering publishes its numbers. Raquel Hernández, our VP of Engineering, wrote in August 2026 that more than 70% of the new code we ship is generated by AI under human oversight. That figure covers the full codebase, including legacy systems, runs closer to 90% for greenfield features and new products, and counts only code an engineer accepted, committed and shipped. Her article adds that Claude Code and Codex are engineering's primary coding environments, with 100% adoption across the engineering organization.

Beyond engineering, the same article describes an internal platform that lets anyone at Clara, technical or not, build and ship working apps and prototypes. Postings in other teams ask for hands-on AI work too:

  • Sales: our Sales Development Representative (AI & Automation) posting says it "isn't a traditional SDR role": you own your pipeline and help build the systems behind it.
  • Growth: our AI Growth Automation Engineer postings say you'll ship SDR co-pilots, outbound agents and lifecycle automations.
  • Operations: our AI Business Operations postings say "This is not aspirational": they want to see AI automations you have already shipped.
  • Design: our Product Designer Associate postings ask you to use AI tools to go from idea to a functional, testable prototype in days, not weeks.
  • Leadership: our Country Manager posting for Mexico says most leaders at Clara build their own tools and ship working internal apps with Claude Code, Codex and similar, and many of our sales postings say even our CEO builds tools to make sellers more productive.

How high is the bar?

High, and our postings define it by ownership and proof of work rather than pedigree. Our AI-Native Engineer, New Grad postings call ownership "the single trait we screen hardest for" and say: "One thing you built and can defend in depth beats a list of ten you touched." Our LATAM Product Lead postings put it plainly: "We care more about what you've shipped than where you studied."

Sales holds the same line: many of our sales postings say "We don't hire just for connections" and value people who learn the product, solve real customer problems and know how to close. A high bar is not a long checklist: every posting says that if you meet the must-haves, you should apply, because the nice-to-haves are a bonus, not a requirement. What else to show depends on the role, and some postings spell it out:

  • Engineering: our AI-Native Engineer, New Grad postings ask for something you built with AI, ready to show us and walk us through the decisions.
  • Sales: some of our Account Executive postings ask you to show us how you have used AI or automation in your own work, for example to research accounts.
  • Security: our Security Engineer postings ask for concrete work, such as a repo, a CTF write-up, a bug report, a detection you built or a vulnerability you found.

What do I get when I join?

Every Clara posting lists the same core offer: a competitive salary with stock options from day one, an annual learning budget and a multilingual team. Other benefits vary by country, so confirm the details for your role and location with the recruiting team.

Scope can come early, too. Our AI-Native Engineer, New Grad postings say you will ship production code in your first weeks: "real features, real customers, real money moving."

  • Competitive salary and stock options (ESOP) from day one.
  • An annual learning budget and accelerated development paths.
  • English is our working language, with Spanish and Portuguese every day.

How fast is Clara growing, and who backs it?

The Financial Times' ranking of The Americas' Fastest-Growing Companies, compiled with Statista, placed Clara second in both 2025 and 2026. The ranking measures revenue growth: 2020 to 2023 for the 2025 list, and 2021 to 2024 for the 2026 list, where the FT reported a compound annual growth rate of 377.1% for Clara.

LinkedIn also named Clara to its Top Startups Mexico list in 2021, 2022 (second) and 2023 (fourth). LinkedIn builds that list from its own data on four pillars: employee growth, engagement, interest in job postings, and hiring from companies on its Top Companies list.

Our job postings list Notable Capital, Coatue, Kaszek, monashees, DST Global, ICONIQ, General Catalyst and Goldman Sachs among our backers. Goldman Sachs is also a lender: in February 2026 we renewed our debt facility with them.

Where does the team work?

Our hubs are Mexico City, São Paulo and Bogotá, the three locations on our LinkedIn company page, and our core markets are Mexico, Brazil and Colombia. Some commercial roles cover emerging territories, such as Monterrey and Guadalajara in Mexico, Brasília, Recife and Campinas in Brazil, and Cali in Colombia, where there is no local office and the role works from that city day to day. We also hire for some roles in Buenos Aires.

Work arrangement varies by role. Many roles in our hubs are hybrid, with no minimum number of office days for most of them; some roles, including several in engineering, are remote-first, with an in-person ramp-up; and a few set their own office requirements. Each posting states its arrangement, so check it before you apply.
